99 Chicken!

When Jill was here visiting from LA, we wanted to take her to a non-chain restaurant.  There’s no point of travelling if you’re only going to eat at CPK and Chili’s the whole time.  So we ended up at 99 Chicken.   This was only my second time there but they have all sorts of fried chicken goodness on the menu.

We had an order of the saucy chicken.  It looks like it’d be hot and spicy in the picture but the sauce was actually more sweet.

We also tried a few of the regular fried chicken.  I think these are my favorite when dipped in a little salt and pepper.

We also tried the kimchee fried rice which I thought was just alright.

The chicken is good because they don’t fry it until you order so it comes out piping hot.  There is an all you can eat salad bar and white rice too.

99 Chicken is yummy! I’m sure you hogged all the Soju, huh?

I love fried stuff. That said, I’ve had my share of good fried chicken and bad fried chicken. This is definitely on the good side of the list. Besides earning a ton of accolades among the various local periodicals, there are also tons of pictures on the walls with random people who have eaten there. The chicken is cooked right when you order it and goes great with the beer they have. You can also get hot sauce on the side (with varying degrees of heat). My recommendation? Stick with the regular fried chicken, get some hot sauce on the side, and enjoy with some good company and Korean beer.

I’ll have to agree with AT that the fried chicken with the sauce on the side was good. They should change their name from 99 Chicken to 100 chicken because it was 100% delicious!
