It’s been awhile…

Don’t worry, we actually HAVE been eating recently… probably too much.  I just haven’t posted in awhile because I’ve been busy. (a.k.a. lazy and busy)  We’ve been meaning to try Seto Restaurant because it is very close to where we live and finally took the plunge today.  It has a very extensive menu and it took forever to decide on what to order.

Of course, we had to try the sushi!  The crazy roll (pictured left) was very tasty and we could tell the quality of the fish was very good.  This particular roll had hamachi, tuna, salmon, avocado and lettuce rolled with nori but wrapped with soy paper on the outside!  We also ordered a hamachi roll.

Even though the high today was 95, I was craving nabeyaki udon.  One thing I especially liked about it was that the ebi tempura came on the side without me even requesting it!  There was a lot of shiitake, chicken and various vegetables in it too.

Beyfriend ordered the steak teriyaki dinner tonight.  It came out on the sizzling platter as he ordered it: medium.  It came with a small salad, miso soup and rice.

The entrees here were quite pricey for a regular Japanese restaurant.  (Boyfriend’s dinner was $18.00)  I quite liked the ambiance and the brightness inside the restaurant and would frequent it more often if the prices were a little more reasonable.  We decided that we’d probably go again for the sushi but for regular Japanese cuisine, there are other places that are probably better for the price.

It seemed like business was really slow this particular weeknight or maybe it is just that way during the week. They have private rooms for small parties and the decor was that of your typical traditional Japanese restaurant. The sushi was excellent and very fresh. I would definitely like to go back and do a sushi only meal. But if you are looking for Japanese food, you’ll probably do better for the price elsewhere. The service was good though considering how slow it was if it wasn’t good I’d seriously reconsider going back. Hmm… I think we should do beer and sushi one night since it’s such a short drive home.
